Certification for ALL mobile crane operators is set to be required starting on November 10, 2018, ensure your team is fully compliant and operating heaving machinery safely with these Crane Institute Certifications (CICs). We’ve partnered with North American Crane Certification, LLC, a nationally accredited organization, to bring Nebraska workers quality crane training, written exams, and practical exams. This training is recognized by OSHA and accredited by the NCCA (National Commission for Certifying Agencies).
OSHA CFR 1926.1427 specifically outlines that employees must be trained to recognize and avoid hazards from an accredited testing organization. Workers operating machinery that can hoist, lower, and horizontally move a suspended load need to know how to:
- Operate controls and know machine performance characteristics
- Calculate capacity
- Prevent powerline contact
- Evaluate ground conditions and equipment support
- Use equipment as outlined in the operating manual
- Recognize basic crane hazards
This course will offer the following types of CICs:
- Small Mechanic Truck
- 21 Ton and Under
- 21-75 Ton
- 75 Ton and Larger
These CICs are related to the following crane types: Truck Cranes, Rough Terrain, All-Terrain, Service Truck, Boom Truck, Lattic Boom Crawler, and Telescopic Crawler.
Individuals who complete the class must also pass written and practical exams. Once passed, the certification is valid for 5 years. If you need to be re-certified please reach out and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
