Ensure your team is fully compliant and operating heaving machinery safely with these Crane Institute Certifications (CICs). 
OSHA CFR 1926.1427 specifically outlines that employees must be trained to recognize and avoid hazards from an accredited testing organization. Workers operating machinery that can hoist, lower, and horizontally move a suspended load need to know how to:

  • Operate controls and know machine performance characteristics
  • Calculate capacity
  • Prevent powerline contact
  • Evaluate ground conditions and equipment support
  • Use equipment as outlined in the operating manual
  • Recognize basic crane hazards


This course will offer the following types of CICs:

  • Small Mechanic Truck
  • 21 Ton and Under
  • 21-75 Ton
  • 75 Ton and Larger
  • Digger/Derrick

These CICs are related to the following crane types: Truck Cranes, Rough Terrain, All-Terrain, Service Truck, Boom Truck, Lattice Boom Crawler, and Telescopic Crawler.

Individuals who complete the class must also pass written and practical exams. Once passed, the certification is valid for 5 years. If you need to be re-certified please reach out and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Class Size: Limited to 30 students
Course Length: 5 days
Course Times: 8a.m.-5p.m. each day (varies on testing days)
Course Fees: $2,995 (Members $2,500)

Please note course fees cover classroom training and testing for certification of only one crane type and capacity. Students can become certified in more than one type and capacity if desired for an additional cost.
